Echo Company, 23BN, Blackhorse Brigade, VDF

H-o-o-a-h and welcome to Echo Company.  My name is SSG Alnita V. Baldon, First Sergeant , Echo Company, 23d Battalion, Blackhorse Brigade, Manassas, VA.  As a veteran of the US Army and USAR, I sta rted out in 1975 as a company clerk and ended my nine-plus years as a drill sergeant.  What a challenge that was.  Now I have the opportunity to put all my experiences and challenges to use as a member of the Virginia Defense Force.

If you are looking for a place to use your present skills, refresh some old unused skills, or want to learn a new skill, and at the same time serve your community, Echo Company in the Virginia Defense Force is the place to be.  Not only will you learn valuable training, here you also earn awards, certificates, service ribbons, and promotions.

Training - one day out of the month we train at our home armory in Manassas, do joint training with our sister companies, or provide services to our community.  We also do one-weekend long exercise at Fort Pickett, VA with all units of the Virginia Defense Force. Additional volunteer hours can be earned during recruiting, training, parades, or other community events.

We will teach you everything you need to know.  All training is related to our assigned mission (see our “Mission” page) and is taught in a classroom, online, or in-the-field with hands-on training and reviews to help keep your skills up-to-date.
